The 2022 NHL Winter Classic at Target Field was the coldest game in NHL history and hosted 38,619 dedicated fans to help ring in the New Year–the recorded temperature at puck drop was -6 degrees Fahrenheit. The event paid homage to the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” and featured pond hockey rinks, fishing holes, and woodland creatures in the outfield. The design system was inspired by classic knits native to that region and stitched together all décor from on-field elements to the digital program.
