Clash on the Sound
The 2024 NHL Winter Classic transported hockey fans to the enchanting city of Seattle, where the historic outdoor hockey event unfolded against the backdrop of the majestic forests and iconic city skyline. The game’s visual design system explored both the beauty and danger of the Puget Sound, including patterns and colors that were referential to the unique geographic placement of the city and the hometown team, the Kraken. The rich history of hockey in the Pacific Northwest also played a key role in the development of complimentary graphic assets, helping set the stage for one of the NHL’s premier events and a fan experience unlike any other.
