Yankee Stadium Ballpark Concept, New York Yankees
Designing for Legends
Yankee Stadium, home to the twenty-seven-time World Champion New York Yankees, to Ruth, Gehrig, Dimaggio, and Mantle, was about to be rebuilt. After nearly eighty years the ghosts of legends would mingle in a new concourse, and Infinite Scale was asked to provide concept design for the branding, environmental graphics, signage systems, and even the flatware for the restaurants and uniforms for the hawkers. Building on the storied history and the winning-nature of the club, Infinite Scale designed a system that integrated subtle pinstripes throughout, recalling not only the flags in the World Series Trophy, but the iconic pinstripes that so define the Yankees themselves. Core aesthetics of the old space and timeless imagery of those larger-than-life players were integrated with the overall strategy to create a package unique to the club, the city, and the new stadium.
Yankee Stadium stands as a testament to the perfect marriage of the old and the new, the traditional and the modern, the beginning of legacy and the remembrance of it.
