Spence and Cleone Eccles Football Center, University of Utah
With the Utes moving to the Pac-12 Conference, the University of Utah Athletics Department was focused on improving and building new facilities to ensure the team was both competitive on the field and in recruiting fresh talent. The training facility needed to be a holistic representation of the proud legacy of the team and its fans while bringing modern amenities to the players. Infinite Scale was asked to create a bold design package that capitalized on a custom facility typeface and brought speed, motion, and strength to the overall look and feel. A floating block U sculpture in the atrium immediately brings this vision to life, beckoning the visitor inward with a strong, branded statement. An interactive digital experience for Utes in the NFL was installed to inspire recruits, new state-of-the-art viewing rooms were designed by player position and big-hit treatments celebrate the Ute’s 2004 and 2008 undefeated seasons. The package was rounded out with custom wall coverings, illuminated brand elements, and art for the player lounge and barber shop.
A bold, modern design package focused on team branding, inspirational interactive treatments, and the legacy of the team come together to usher the Utes into their future as a Pac-12 football team.
