Super Bowl XLII, University of Phoenix Stadium, 2008
Who Wants It More
Home of sizzling deserts, towering red rock features, and year-round warmth, Phoenix Arizona played host city to the 42nd Super Bowl. Using the city, the region, and the stadium itself (University of Phoenix Stadium, which was design to look like a coiled rattlesnake, complete with metallic scales), Infinite Scale transformed the venue into homage to the desert landscape and the game of football. Red rock and sandstone hues were paired with crisp imagery of the Lombardi trophy and the stars of the game, a three-dimensional roman numeral system was erected outside of the building, and the skin of the building itself was lit in a range of colors to represent the changing moods of the Arizona landscape from dusk until dawn.
