NHL All-Star Game, PNC Arena, 2011
A Perfect Storm
Home to the Carolina Hurricanes, Raleigh North Carolina was about to host the 2011 NHL All-Star Game, the NHL’s opportunity to focus on the heroes of the game. Infinite Scale was asked to design the look and feel of the game by capturing the power, endurance, and spirit of pro hockey and creating an emotional experience for the fans, athletes, sponsors, and viewers. Using the Hurricanes as a primary inspiration for the design, Infinite Scale created 54 individually stylized players skating amongst a Carolina storm – team color particles peel from each player creating motion, speed and intensity and a swirling Carolina sky and ice textures provide a white-hot background for showcasing each athlete. The result is an athlete-focused design that creates immediate impact for the event.
From star and puck graphic elements to ice texture and color slashes, the 2011 NHL All-Star game was a force to be reckoned with.
